Lawry's is one of the oldest and most respected food companies in the United States. Headquartered in Monrovia, California, Lawry's is the leading marketer of blended spices, seasonings , marinades and sauces with more than 100 products marketed nationally. Lawry's® Seasoned Salt has become America's largest-selling spice blend with more than 10 million units sold annually.

Lawry's grew out of a family restaurant and bakery business, beginning in 1915 with the modest opening of a potato chip store. Lawrence L. Frank and his brother-in-law, Walter Van de Kamp, went on to co-found Lawry's Restaurants, Inc., which included the Tam O'Shanter Inn and Lawry's® The Prime Rib restaurant. From the success of the restaurants, Lawry's® Seasoned Salt, America's most popular spice blend was born.

In 1956, Richard N. Frank followed in his fathers footsteps to become president of the various family enterprises which then included four restaurants and the fledgling food manufacturing company. His creativity, business acumen and community involvement lead to the growth and success of Lawry's Foods, Inc. and the restaurant group.

Acquired by Lipton in 1979, Lawry's continued to grow and is now a part of Unilever Bestfoods, one of the largest producers and marketers of food, home and personal care products in the world. Unilever Bestfoods brand portfolio includes Lawry's, Ragu® Pasta Sauce, Lipton® Tea, Lipton® Soups and Side Dishes, Shedd's Spread Country Crock®, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter® and Wishbone® Salad Dressing.

With its focus on high-quality products, Lawry's continues to dominate the blended seasoning industry with a dedication to research and development to ensure the excellent taste, authenticity and convenience for which the company is known for. Lawry's consumer products, manufactured in facilities in both the East and Midwest, are sold in supermarkets and other food outlets throughout the country. Lawry's operations include a food service division, which produces specially-formulated products for use in hotels, restaurants and schools.

Lawry's has generously donated some of the start up cost needed by the Tsunami Children Foundation.

Boon Rawd Brewery
is a legend in fine quality brewing since 1933, the year it was founded by Phraya Bhirom Bhakdi. ("Phraya" is not part of the name, but a title bestowed by the H.M. King, similar to the title "Lord" bestowed in England.)

Bhirom Bhakdi began his career as a clerk who worked in a trading office because of his knowledge of English. Later, he started his own business running the boat ferry across the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, the lifeline that flows through the heart of Thailand and is the heart of Signha Beer. He eventually sold the business and gave himself a break by traveling through Europe. At that time, Thailand did not have a locally made beer, and it dawned on Bhirom Bhakdi while in Europe that there might be a market for one. He found willing investors and enlisted the aid of German beer makers to create Boon Rawd Brewery.

His firm commitment toward creating exceptional local beer, soda water and drinking water brands for Thai consumers has turned Boon Rawd Brewery into a family's pride and a nation's heritage. Phraya Bhirom Bhakdi's dream and vision were thereafter succeeded by his three sons. And now, three and four generations later, the company is still family owned and operated by Bhirom Bhakdi family members.

Boon Rawd currently operates two breweries and six factories located in strategic regions throughout Thailand, employing more than 2,000 people. The company's total annual production capacity for beer is 800 million liters.

Boon Rawd has been able to steadfastly advance onto the global market with an expansive network of more than 300 local distributors and a wide international market base that has made the Signha Brand recognized not only domestically, but internationally as well. Its main markets today include Asia, Europe and North America with distribution channels covering more than 25 countries internationally, through a total of 40 distributors.

Singha has been imported into the United States for 30 years. The US market has been a natural for Singha with more than 4,000 Thai restaurants nationwide.

Singha Beer has been generous to the Tsunami Children Foundation and donated some of the monies needed to get us started.
